Bomb Threat Reported at Massachusetts School

The building has been evacuated

Police have responded to a report of a bomb threat at Westwood High School in Westwood, Massachusetts.

Officials were called at 7:30 a.m. The school has been evacuated, according to police.

The principal of Thurston Middle School in Westwood sent an audio message to parents this morning saying students at that school are in "shelter in place mode" due to the bomb threat at the high school.

The message said Westwood Police are investigating the credibility of the threat to determine if the high school is safe for the students to return to class. She said students at the middle school are safe, they are with their teachers, and the building is secure.

The school is closed for the day.

This is one of numerous bomb threats reported at schools throughout New England over the past three days.
