No injuries were reported when an Amtrak Downeaster train derailed while traveling from Portland, Maine, to Boston Tuesday afternoon, according to necn affiliate WCSH.
The train left Portland at 2:20 p.m. and derailed just a few miles away. The train's trip to Boston has been cancelled, along with a few other trains that were scheduled to follow.
Officials say 41 people were on board. Frustrated passengers were taken back to Portland and were given the option to catch a bus to Boston.
Investigators have not released a cause.
