Boston Crosswalk Faces Student Backlash

The focus is around the intersection of Boylston and Tremont streets at the center of the city campus

A traffic problem brewing in Boston near Emerson College has some students asking officials to address crosswalks.

The focus is around the intersection of Boylston and Tremont streets at the center of the city campus.

Students say they don’t have enough time to cross in the middle of the day when there are many cars and people going back and forth.

Right now, the lights allow about 15 seconds to get across.

Emerson senior Kate Bartel and other students are asking the city to increase it by five seconds.

The Boston Traffic Department says they are already reviewing the intersection.

Changes to this light and others around the city are expected in the next few months.
