Boston Duck Tours Will Add Second Staff Member to All Tours

The company will recruit 40-50 new employees

Boston Duck Tours announced Monday that a second staff member will be added to all Duck Boat tours in Boston beginning March 2017.

"We are eager to move forward with this new staffing plan," Cindy Brown, Boston Duck Tours CEO, said. "This change will be in place for the opening of our 2017 season."

The company will recruit 40-50 new employees, who will take park in the Boston Police Department's training.

To improve safety Boston Duck Tours is also installing sensors on the front and back of the vehicle. The company earlier installed exterior-view cameras on each boat.

These changes were introduced because of a recent call to ban duck boat tours over safety concerns, after 28-year-old Allison Warmuth was killed in a duck boat crash in Boston last April. Another woman was injured in a duck boat accident in July.
