Boston Man Gets 7 Years for MBTA Station Shooting

Man pleads guilty to three counts of armed assault with intent to murder

A 19-year-old Boston man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the shooting of two women at a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority station in January.

The Boston Globe reports Reginald Price was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to three counts of armed assault with intent to murder in Suffolk County Superior Court.

Authorities say the two victims, a 24-year-old woman and a 62-year-old woman, were not Price's intending targets in the Jan. 26 shooting at the Forest Hills station.

Police say Price opened fire in the crowded station after being pursued by three rival gang members he had argued with earlier.

The elder victim submitted an impact statement that says her injuries have left her weak and "unable to perform many daily chores and activities."
