Boston Marathon Bombing Hero Creates Foundation

Carlos Arredondo and his wife launched the Arredondo Family Foundation at an event Monday night in Boston

A man who became a heroic face during the Boston Marathon bombings has created a foundation geared towards helping those who have experienced a tragedy.

Carlos Arredondo and his wife launched the Arredondo Family Foundation at an event Monday night in Boston.

Arredondo helped save the life of Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Baumann, who lost both his legs in the explosion.

One of Arredondo's sons was killed fighting in Iraq and his other son committed suicide after his brother's death.

Arredondo said, "Under the circumstances, losing my eldest son in Iraq and my second son Brian by suicide, it's a way for us to give back to the community and family veterans, and also many other people as well."

The foundation is also expanding an existing scholarship for Blue Hills Regional Technical High School and the University of Massachusetts Boston.
