Boston Men Who Allegedly Dragged Teenager With Car to Face Arraignment

Two Boston men accused of dragging a teenager with their vehicle faced a judge Monday morning.

Dejon W. Barnes, 18, of Dorchester and Kenneth R. Ford, 23, of Roxbury, were arrested in connection with the Friday night incident that left an 18-year-old man in critical condition. The two suspects were arrested after police converged on a house party, according to state police.

Officials say the victim met with Barnes and Kenneth to sell an iPhone when the duo allegedly hooked the victim’s arm by closing the car window. The two then drove off at a high speed, dragging the victim for several blocks.

The victim was found unresponsive on Gallivan Boulevard, just before Nevada Street. He is being treated for his life-threatening injuries at Boston Medical Center. Officials did not release the victim’s identity, and his current condition is unclear.

"I think it’s awful because things like that usually don’t happen here," neighbor Barbara Miller said. "I've lived here my whole life, half on the next street and this half here."

Barnes and Ford were charged with unarmed robbery and are expected to be given additional charges by the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office.
