Officials are asking New England Patriots fans to behave on Super Bowl Sunday

Boston officials are asking New England Patriots fans to behave on Super Bowl Sunday.

Mayor Marty Walsh is asking fans to act appropriately no matter the outcome of the big game, and that there will not be any tolerance of illegal activity and dangerous situations.

He's also asking fans having fun in the city to not drink and drive, adding that the MBTA is an option.

Boston Police say there will be parking restrictions Sunday during the Super Bowl.

Police say the restrictions cover many streets in Brighton, Kenmore Square, Northeastern, Faneuil Hall and North Station areas. Sings will inform drivers of parking restrictions.

In addition, there will be restrictions on where and when people can move Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. Kenmore Square will be shut down after the third quarter of the game. Boylston and Hemenway Streets will be affected as well.

Police say there is a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive behavior and that students will be turned over to their respective Dean of Students for disruptive or illegal behavior.

Police also recommend not walking with headphones in, walking in single file and paying attention to surroundings.

Meanwhile, state police say they'll also be helping Boston police with crowd control during Sunday's game. Troopers will also be present at the University of Massachusetts' Amherst and Dartmouth campuses.
