Boston Police Investigating Attempted Sexual Assault in Mission Hill

Woman said she was approached from behind by a man near Kevin W. Fitzgerald Park on Saint Alphonsus Street

Police in Boston are investigating an attempted sexual assault in the city's Mission Hill section that occurred Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said a woman told police she was approached from behind by a man at 1:38 p.m. in the area of the Kevin W. Fitzgerald Park on Saint Alphonsus Street.

The man allegedly threw the woman to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her before fleeing on foot.

The victim described her attacker as a man in his late 20s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height with a slim build. The man had a goatee and black hair which was in a ponytail. The victim said the man, who had tattoos on both arms, was wearing black and white sneakers, black shorts and a black T-shirt with white lettering.

Police said the man was later seen riding a mountain bike towards Huntington Avenue.
