Officials say the death of a 3-year-old boy who was pulled from a stream near his day care center in Vermont has been ruled accidental.
The state medical examiner's office says that Parker Berry of Hyde Park died as a result of drowning and cold water submersion.
Police said that when family members arrived at the Elephant in the Field daycare in Waterbury Center to pick up the boy on Thursday, staff members noticed Parker was missing.
Authorities said staff spotted the boy and pulled the child from the Thatcher Brook and called 911. Parker died Friday at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
The state Department for Children and Families issued a suspension order Friday to the child care center, meaning it can't operate.
The incident remains under investigation.
