Brandon Spikes Pleads Guilty in Hit-and-Run Crash

Former New England Patriot Brandon Spikes has pleaded guilty in connection with a June hit-and-run crash in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes has pleaded guilty in connection with a June hit-and-run crash in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Prosecutors allege that on June 7, Spikes rear-ended a vehicle with his 2011 Mercedes Maybach on Interstate 495. The driver of that vehicle, who was not initially identified, reported hitting a deer around 3:30 a.m. through the car's on-board navigation system. Around the same time, a Billerica, Massachusetts, family reported that their vehicle was struck in the same are by a vehicle that they did not see.

Authorities made the connection between the two incidents and Massachusetts State Police filed charges. Spikes pleaded guilty in Wrentham District Court Wednesday. He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, speeding, and a marked lanes violation.

Spikes waived his right to formal notice and process. He was sentenced to one year of probation.

The Patriots released Spikes the day after the incident. He is currently a free agent.
