Bridgeport Condo Fire Displaces Seven

Seven people were displaced after fire ripped through a condo complex in Bridgeport Sunday night.

Officials say the Bridgeport Fire Department responded around 7:28 p.m. to a complex at the corner of Alanson Road and Connecticut Avenue. When crews arrived there was fire showing and the building had to be evacuated.

Fire officials say the blaze was serious and they were forced to order all firefighters out. The blaze was declared under control around 8:50 p.m. Two condos sustained damage. No injuries were reported.

Four adults and three children are displaced and the Red Cross is assisting them with finding shelter.

The cause of the fire is unknown. The fire marshal is investigating. Anyone with information should contact the Bridgeport Fire Department at (203) 357-2042.
