Bruins, IRS Facing Off Over Team Meal Tax Deductions

The Bruins say that sum exists after taking 100-percent tax deductions from team meals during road trips

The Boston Bruins and the Internal Revenue Service are at odds over whether or not team meals can be considered for full tax deductions, according to the Boston Globe.

They say the IRS claims the Bruins organization owes about $85,000 in taxes.

The Bruins say that sum exists after taking 100-percent tax deductions from team meals during road trips.

The IRS only allows for a 50-percent deduction in anything "entertainment, amusement of recreation" related, but the Bruins say feeding their players on the road is a fundamental part of their business.
