Bus Monitor Charged With Child Pornography

27-year-old Gregory M. Redmond of Chicopee is being held until a July 15 hearing

A Massachusetts bus monitor is accused of getting a child to send him child pornography.

Twenty-seven-year-old Gregory M. Redmond of Chicopee was arraigned on a child pornography possession charged Tuesday after his arrest the day before.

Chicopee police say officers were called to the Valley West School on Monday morning to meet with staff and a 14-year-old student about possible child pornography issues.

The teen told detectives that Redmond, who was a bus monitor on his bus, had been contacting him via Skype and PS3 and offering him money and gift cards in exchange for photos of the teen's body.

Investigators say they determined that the teen had sent more graphic, pornographic photos as well, and police arrested Redmond after interviewing him.

A search warrant was also granted for Redmond's home on Prospect Street, where detectives confiscated computers and other storage items as evidence in their case.

He's being held until a July 15 hearing, and it's unclear if he has a lawyer.
