Tony Evans of Mattapan, Massachusetts, was charged as an armed career criminal because of prior convictions including a gun conviction, in which he served four years in state prison. He was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and resisting arrest. He was held on $100,000 cash bail.

Tony Harris of Everett, Massachusetts, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, and unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device. He was also charged as an armed career criminal and was held on $100,000 cash bail.

Daniel Murphy-Wilkins of Roxbury, Massachusetts, was charged with four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and single counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, and resisting arrest. Murphy-Wilkins was held on $150,000 cash bail.

Assistant District Attorney Alain Anderson told the court that the Boston Police officers in the Youth Violence Strike Force were looking for Evans in order to serve him a warrant for an unrelated firearms case against him.

Officers spotted him entering a Ford Explorer and followed the vehicle with the intention of pulling it over and arresting Evans. As the officers activated their sirens, an unmarked police car pulled behind the Explorer and another cruiser pulled in front of it.

As one officer exited the cruiser, the Explorer accelerated and nearly struck the officer.

The Explorer continued at a high speed, weaving through traffic until it pulled off and all three occupants exited the car and fled on foot.

The driver, later identified as Murphy-Wilkins, allegedly turned to the officers pursuing him and pointed a handgun at the police. The officers drew their weapons and ordered him to put down his gun.

Murphy-Wilkins dropped the firearm but struggled violently as he was taken into custody.

The other suspects were also apprehended by officers as they attempted to flee the scene.

In the event that they post bail, all three men were ordered to wear GPS monitoring devices, remain under home confinement, and stay away from each other.

The defendents will be back in court on February 23.
