Car Crashes Into Building in Office Complex

A car slammed into a building in an office complex Wednesday afternoon in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the crash at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Washington Street around 2:30 p.m.

Clean-up crews were clearing out the debris Wednesday night and boarding up the Coldwell Banker real estate office that was struck.

Police say it was an elderly woman behind the wheel. Her husband was in the passenger seat.

Their car crashed through a conference room and the receptionist area of the office.

The staff inside say the receptionist had just stepped away, and the six or seven real estate agents in the office at the time happened to be in a different section of the office, so no one was injured.

Realtor Bill Willis ran to check on the couple in the car. He says the wife was concerned about her husband, because he uses a walker. The staff helped both of them get out of the car.

There are other offices inside the building and everyone was evacuated as a precaution. A tow truck later removed the Subaru Outback.

The couple is from Peabody. They declined being transported to the hospital. A relative picked them up at the scene.

There are other offices here, and everyone had to be evacuated.
