A 59-year-old pedestrian died Wednesday after she succumbed to the injuries she received from getting hit by a car in Mashpee, Massachusetts.
At 8:32 p.m. on Tuesday, Mashpee police responded to the incident in the 100 block of Falmouth Road after receiving a call of a vehicle vs. pedestrian. A woman, identified as Michele C. Poirier from Mashpee, was walking westbound on Route 28 when she was hit by the vehicle.
The victim was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, where she died.
Details on what caused the crash were not immediately clear. Officials are investigating the incident.
