Child Caused Four-Alarm Peabody Fire

The fire was set by a child using a lighter

The four-alarm fire that broke out in Peabody, Massachusetts, on June 17 was caused by a child using a lighter, State Fire Marshal Peter J, Ostroskey and Peabody Fire Chief Steven Pasdon said. 

No one was injured in the fire that occurred in a 3-story, 3-family house at 17 Little's Lane in Peabody. 

According to Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, fires set by children are common. 617 fires set by children were reported from 2010 to 2014.
