Clerk Assaulted During an Armed Robbery in Worcester, Mass.

A male clerk sustained injuries to his head during a robbery of Honey Farms Market.

A clerk is injured after being hit in the head during a robbery at Honey Farms Market in Worcester, Massachusetts.

According to Worcester police, on Monday at approximately 12:30 a.m. they responded to Honey Farms Market located at 872 West Boylston Street for a reported armed robbery.

When police arrived they noticed the victim, a 30-year-old male, was bleeding heavily from a cut on his head.

The victim told police that he as he was coming out of the back of the store towards the register, he was hit over the head with either a baseball bat or a pipe causing him to briefly lose consciousness.

Although the victim's description of the suspect was very limited, he said that there were two individuals, one may have been a female, while the other was a male.  He also said that it was the male that hit him over the head. 

The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital where he received several sutures and then released.

During the assault, the register was removed from the counter.  Then just before 5:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to Quinsigamond Community College for a report of a cash register drawer found in the baseball field.
