Coast Guard Rescues 2 Men Off Rhode Island Coast
    NBC10

The Coast Guard says it rescued two people whose boat became disabled off Rhode Island over the weekend, and one of the men appeared to be suffering from hypothermia.

The operator of a 17-foot fishing boat contacted the Coast Guard on Sunday and reported that his vessel was disabled and in need of assistance.

A crew from Station Point Judith was sent to the boat, about 5 miles southwest of Watch Hill.

Authorities say one man had been wet for four or five hours in high winds and was "in pretty bad shape." He was given dry garments and blankets and placed near a heater. Emergency rescuers took over his care when the boat reached shore.

The boat was towed to the Stonington Harbor Yacht Club in Connecticut.
