A moment of silence will be held before Friday night's home football game in honor of Hayley Sanford

Bridgewater State University will honor a cheerleader killed in a car crash this week.

A moment of silence will be held before Friday night's home football game in honor of Hayley Sanford.

She was driving on Route 495 in Raynham Wednesday night when police say she crossed over the median and hit an on-coming vehicle.

Sanrford died at the hospital Thursday morning.

Bridgewater State released a statement on Sanford's death.

It reads in part, "Although new to Bridgewater, Hayley already had become deeply involved in our community as a member of the BSU cheerleading club team. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Hayley's family and friends, including her parents, Sharon and Russell, and to the members and coaches of BSU's cheerleading squad."
