Commissioner William Evans: Injured Boston Officers ‘In Good Spirits'

Officers Matt Morris and Richard Cintolo remain in stable condition

The two Boston Police officers injured in a shooting last week remain in stable condition and are in "good spirits," according to Boston Police Commissioner William Evans.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Boston Police said officers Matthew Morris and Richard Cintolo continue to rest and recover from their injuries. They remain in stable condition at Massachusetts General Hospital.

“Just left the hospital," Evans added. "Matt & Richie both in good spirits. Thanks again to everybody for all the support and prayers."

Both officers were injured in a shooting on the evening of Oct. 12 after a man pulled a gun on officers responding to a domestic disturbance in East Boston.

Authorities say the man - 33-year-old Kirk Figueroa - opened fire on them with a shotgun. Other officers then shot and killed Figueroa.
