A Springfield, Massachusetts man has been charged in a New Britain murder and is being held on $10 million.
Jesus Sierra, 34, of Springfield, 34, was captured around 2 a.m. on Friday hiding in a Springfield apartment, according to police.
He is the third person to be arrested in connection with the murder of Jesus M. Silva, 25, of Meriden, who was found unresponsive in a vehicle near the intersection of Yeaton Street and Farmington Avenue in New Britain at 7:48 p.m. on Dec. 30 and pronounced dead at the scene.
The office of the chief medical examiner determined that Silva died from a gunshot wound and his death was ruled a homicide.
Members of the Springfield Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police took Sierra into custody and he has been charged with one count of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday as a fugitive from justice and will be held pending rendition to Connecticut.
Idaliz Zavala-Burgos, 32, of Springfield, Massachusetts, has been charged with murder with special circumstances and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in connection with Silva's death.
Joel Jaquez, 31, of Springfield, was arrested on a warrant and charged with one count of murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
No other information has been released on the case.
