Cops: 63-Year-Old Man, Charged With DUI, Clocked Driving 120 MPH

A Warwick man is in jail after police say he drove more than 120 mph on Interstate 295 in northeastern Rhode Island.

State police arrested 63-year-old Louis Picard on Saturday morning in Lincoln. State police say a trooper holding a laser clocked him exceeding the 65 mph speed limit. Picard later failed a field sobriety test and a chemical test.

Police charged him with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs and reckless driving.

He has been released on $1,000 bail and is due back in District Court in Warwick on July 21. It's not immediately known if he has an attorney.
