Cops: Cab Driver Carjacked, Suspects Crash Vehicle

The incident happened early Friday morning around 3 on Route 93 southbound in Dorchester

Boston cab driver Dieunes Marcelin says he feels lucky to be alive after a couple allegedly assaulted him with a taser and stole his cab on I-93 South in Dorchester early Friday morning.

"It was very scary because I didn't know what was going to happen to me," Marcelin said.

Marcelin says he picked up the couple right here on Broad Street near the Hilton at about 1:45 a.m. He says they asked to be taken to Mattapan but never gave him an exact address.

"We are getting ready to get to exit 11B, so I didn't want to pass the exit," said Marcelin.

Marcelin says the couple was making out in the backseat, so he pulled over here in the Keystone cut out to ask for the address.

He says the female passenger became angry.

"She was getting crazy. She said 'why is there $17 on the meter, we didn't go far enough for $17' and she started yelling and she said that she was going to punch me," said Marcelin.

Marcelin says as the woman began hitting him, the man pulled out a taser.

"The male get out of the car and then chased me with the taser while the lady opened the door behind me and started slapping me and punching me in my head," said Marcelin.

Marcelin says as he grabbed his phone to call 911 for help, the couple took off in his cab.

State Police spotted the cab driving erratically on Blue Hill Ave in Mattapan but couldn't stop it before the taxi crashed into a pole and the couple took off.

"So it was really scary for me, I have four kids here in the house with me," said Marcelin, "I have to be here for them."

Marcelin described the suspects as a black couple in their late 20s, with the man having dread locks and the woman having short, dark hair.

If you have any information on them you're asked to call state police.
