Cops: Man Injured in 1 of 2 Shootings

Police say they found the victim on Sorrento Street with a single gunshot wound not considered to be life-threatening

Authorities are investigating two shootings in Providence, Rhode Island, including one that injured a 21-year-old man.

Police say the man was shot around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the West End area. Several shell casings were found at the intersection of Cranston and Anthony avenues.

Police say they found the victim on Sorrento Street with a single gunshot wound not considered to be life-threatening.

He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

Police say he was unable to tell officers anything about the shooting.

Officers were also called to the Smith Hill area on reports that shots were fired at around 11 p.m. Saturday. They found a silver Lexus with bullet holes in the side window and door.

Police say no one was inside the car.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
