Sleeping Homeless Man Killed by Tractor-Trailer

The body of the person was found on Harrison Avenue.

Boston Police are investigating a deadly accident involving a homeless man and a tractor-trailer.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. in the Good Will parking lot on Harrison street in Roxbury. A truck driver came to move the trailer- not realizing the man was underneath- and the driver drove over the man. The victim in his 50s was trapped between the wheels and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the area is filled with people living on this street- some of them saying they sleep underneath trailers in a parking lot. They are looking into ways to help the homeless in the area.

"That is a problem in this area, up and down this whole stretch of Melania Cass on either side. We do have a type of a problem, it is very close to the hospital. We're dealing with those kinds of problems all the time. We're doing our best to try and get these individuals services, but that is obviously a problem of ours as well," said Supt. Bernard O'Rourke.

The victim's name has not been released.

As of now, the driver is not facing any charges.
