Providence, Rhode Island, police say a 20-year-old man was sitting on his couch in a South Providence apartment when he was struck in the shoulder by a shot fired from the apartment above.
The Providence Journal reports police responding early Sunday morning found the bloody victim sitting in the back seat of a car outside. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A police report said officers found a bullet hole in the ceiling above the couch.
They arrested two men in the upstairs apartment on drug charges. Officers said they found several jars of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a safe with almost $3,000 in cash along with papers they believed were drug sale records. Police said they also found a 12-gauge shotgun, a rifle case and ammunition.
Police are still investigating the shooting.
