Cops: N.Y. Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Vt. Woman

Police say 21-year-old Kathleen King, of Wells, crossed the center line and hit 54-year-old Robert Agne just after 3:30 p.m.

Police say a New York bicyclist is dead after he was struck in western Vermont by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel.

Police say 21-year-old Kathleen King, of Wells, crossed the center line and hit 54-year-old Robert Agne just after 3:30 p.m. Monday on Route 30 in Pawlet. The Granville veterinarian was declared dead at the scene.

King was taken to a hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

Vermont State Police are investigating whether any charges will be forthcoming.
