A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Wareham, Massachusetts, police said.
Police, fire and medical personnel responded to the scene near 367 Onset Avenue.
Authorities identified the pedestrian as a 44-year-old Plymouth man and the driver as Mark Giberson, 36, of Wareham.
The pedestrian, police said, has serious injuries and was transported to a Boston hospital.
According to officials, the vehicle struck a parked vehicle then the victim, who was standing in the parking lot. Police said the area was illuminated.
Giberson was arrested on the scene and police said he appeared to be intoxicated. Additionally, his license was suspended.
Giberson was not injured and is being held a Wareham Police Department.
