Danny Ainge, the Celtics' president of basketball operations, was on Long Island in New York Saturday, making his pitch to convince Kevin Durant to come to Boston. And it appears he brought some help to seal the deal — in the form of Tom Brady.

A photo shared on Imgur shows Ainge walking in the Hamptons with the Patriots' quarterback, alongside Celtics Kelly Olynyk and Marcus Smart.

A basketball executive bringing his own players to help make the team's case is not out of the ordinary. But Brady's star power may shine across sports — as Comcast SportsNet New England points out, Durant expressed an admiration for him back in 2011.

According to the Boston Globe, a league source who was attending the Celtics' meeting with Durant confirmed that Brady had a part in the pitch, calling him "Durant's favorite athlete."

While he wasn't in the Hamptons, Big Papi fully supports Durant coming to Boston.

Adding the free agent star small forward would be an incredible boost to a young Celtics team. Durant, now 27, has averaged 27.4 points and seven rebounds per game in nine years with the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder organization. He led the league in total points in five of those years, and has been an All Star the past seven seasons.
