Massachusetts State Police responded to a single vehicle car crash on Route 291 Eastbound at Exit 14 in Springfield.
A 54-year-old Springfield man was traveling in a Ford 150, when he lost control of the car and traveled off the right side of the exit ramp, striking a guardrail.
The driver was transported to Baystate Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
