Two people were displaced by the fire, which began around 2:30 p.m. They were not at home at the time of the fire.

No one was injured by the fire, which fire officials say the fire was focused behind a gas fireplace.

"It was very difficult, cause you can't see it, but nowadays, with the thermal imagery cameras and stuff like that, we can do a pretty good job of determining where we have to cut the walls open," said Bellingham Fire Chief Steven Gentile. "That saved us time."
