Crews Recover Body of Diver Who Died in Water Tank in Braintree, Mass.

A Kentucky-based business was performing the inspection Thursday when officials say the man became trapped inside

Officials have recovered the body of a diver who died after reporting losing air while inspecting a massive, municipal water tank in Braintree, Massachusetts.

A Kentucky-based business was performing the inspection Thursday when officials say the man became trapped inside. A spotter jumped in to help, but later had to be pulled out of the large, cylindrical tank by rescue crews. He has been taken to a hospital.

Crews were not able to reach the first man initially and had to drain the water tank overnight.

Officials say the dead man's 14 year-old son was at the scene, but the town hasn't confirmed whether the man was related to any other workers.

The victim's family has identified him as David Scott.

Braintree Mayor Joseph Sullivan says "perhaps some of the equipment may have failed.''
