1 Person Killed in Late-Night Fire; 2 Burned

Authorities say a woman has died in a house fire in Somersworth, New Hampshire, and two others escaped, suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.

As a result of the autopsy that was conducted Wednesday morning, the victim has been positively identified as Julie Bregy, 51, of Somersworth.

The cause of death was smoke inhalation and the manner of death was deemed accidental.

Firefighters say the fire broke out at about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday at a structure opposite 1 Williams St. When they arrived, there was heavy fire on the first floor and in one room on the second floor.

One of the occupants told firefighters that someone was trapped on the second floor. Authorities later found Bregy there. The two people who escaped were hospitalized. Their conditions weren't immediately known.

Officials say the damage is estimated at $100,000.
