Crews Respond to Massive Water Main Break in Brockton, Massachusetts

Witnesses say it looked like a "geyser" spraying nearby houses and cars

Crews responded to a big water main break in Brockton, Massachusetts, Wednesday morning.

The break happened on Belmont at West Elm avenues around 10:30 a.m. Crews were able to finally shut off the water just before noon. There isn't clear when the break will be fixed.

Witnesses tell necn it looked like a "geyser" spraying nearby houses and cars.

Officials with the Brockton Water Department say the break will only affect residents living on Belmont Avenue, leaving roughly 25-30 residents without water.

Around 9:15 p.m., police said the water had been turned back on.
