A missing kayaker in Kingston, Massachusetts, is home safe after spending the night on boat docked on a river.
The U.S. Coast guard says Michael Rafferty, 43, had last been seen on the Jones River late Monday afternoon. His girlfriend reported him as missing when he did not return.
A state police helicopter helped search the area but came up empty.
Rafferty returned home just before 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
He said he spent the night after his kayak got stuck in the mud when the tide went out.
