Crews Rescue Pedestrian Pinned Under Train

Victim fell from northbound platform down to tracks

Officials responded to a medical emergency at the MBTA Massachusetts Avenue Orange Line station in Boston on Saturday afternoon.

At appoximately 3:15 p.m., a female fell from the northbound platform and was struck by an incoming train. She was pinned under the train for an extended period of time until response teams arrived on scene.

Boston Fire and EMS were able to free up the victim. She was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Power to the line was shut down. Service was suspended between Back Bay and Jackson Square stations.
