Worker Killed After Trapped by Sand Avalanche

The rescue is taking place in Plymouth, Massachusetts

A worker who became trapped by an avalanche of sand has been killed in Plymouth, Massachusetts. 

Police and fire officials received a 911 call at 11 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an injured worker involved in an accident with a bulldozer at P.A. Landers at 143 Hedge's Pond Rd.

When they arrived on scene, emergency workers found a bulldozer operator apparently trapped in a work area they employee had been using the bulldozer to dig in (video from the scene above.)

Charles Pace, 65, of Whitman was determined to be deceased at the scene. 

The investigation is ongoing, and OSHA is involved. 

The owner of P.A. Landers, a sand and gravel company, has no comment for necn at this time.
