Death of Woman Ruled a Homicide

The untimely death of insurance executive Melissa Milan of Simsbury, Connecticut, who was found Thursday night, has been ruled a homicide.

The untimely death of a female insurance company executive found injured Thursday alongside Iron Horse Boulevard in Simsbury, Connecticut, has been ruled a homicide, according to the state medical examiner's office.

According to police, Melissa Millan, 54, of Simsbury, was found lying on Iron Horse Boulevard between Phelps Lane and Pent Road around 8 p.m. Thursday. An ambulance rushed her to Saint Francis Hospital, where she died a short time later.

The cause of death is "stab wound of chest," an employee of the medical examiner's office told NBC Connecticut.

Millan was a senior vice president at MassMutual Insurance, according to a spokesperson for the company.
