Erratic Driver Charged After Highway Collision

Police in Meredith, New Hampshire, responded to the scene of a serious accident after a woman lost control of her vehicle and slammed into the guardrail on I-93, Friday morning.

53-year-old Nancy O'Brein, of Nashua, was discovered trapped inside her vehicle when state troopers arrived on scene.

Witnesses say O'Brein was swerving all over the road before she struck the guardrail. Her car finally came to a stop after colliding with a tree in the median. Another witness reportedly observed the driver focused in on an electronic device.

Officers had to break the car's window in order to gain access and provide medical attention to O'Brein. She was taken to Speare Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Twenty-five minutes prior to the accident, O'Brein had been pulled over and was issued a citation for speeding. Police say she was traveling at 92-mph.

O'Brein potentially faces a $500 fine and a loss of license. She's been charged with negligent driving.
