Driver Drifts Into Opposite Lane, Causing 3-Vehicle Crash

Police in Vermont are investigating the cause of a three-vehicle crash.

WPTZ-TV reports the crash occurred Saturday afternoon in Ferrisburgh. Police say Carolina Harper, of Burlington, was travelling northbound on U.S. Route 7 when she drifted into the southbound lane and struck a car driven by Christina Safford, of Vergennes.

Police say Safford's car then spun from the impact of the crash. Investigators say Harper's vehicle struck a third car driven by Edward Bittle of Whitehall, New York.

Police say there were no serious injuries. Authorities say two of the vehicles sustained significant damage. No charges have been filed.

Police continue to investigate.
