Drunk Driver Clocked at 109MPH Prior to Arrest

Suspect failed multiple field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest

New Hampshire police say they've chased a driver clocked at 109 mph before catching him.

Trooper Dan Livingstone says he saw a vehicle doing 108 mph in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 93 in Bow early Sunday. He says as he tried to catch the vehicle it reached 109 mph and was swerving and narrowly missing other cars.

The vehicle eventually was stopped in nearby Concord.

State police say the driver failed sobriety tests and was arrested. They say he refused to provide his identification but an investigation confirmed he's a habitual offender from Manchester.

Police say while he was being taken to jail he threatened troopers and tried to kick out the windows of their cruiser.

He's charged with aggravated driving under the influence, reckless operation and other offenses. He's due in court Monday.
