Driver That Hit, Killed Trooper Had Previous Driving Issues

Witnesses say Njuguna was traveling at a high speed when he crossed three travel lanes and smashed into the trooper's vehicle

Thirty-year-old David Njuguna was the driver of the car that hit and killed Massachusetts State Police Trooper Thomas Clardy on Wednesday, and he has had driving issues in the past.

Witnesses say Njuguna was traveling at a high speed when he crossed three travel lanes and smashed into the trooper's vehicle.

He was airlifted to UMass Medical Center. His current condition is unknown but police say he suffered serious injuries.

Necn obtained his driving records that show his license was suspended a couple of times between 2012 and 2014 for refusing to take a breathalyzer.

Njuguna will be summonsed into court to face criminal charges once he is released from the hospital.
