Police in Essex, Massachusetts are warning drivers to slow down and pay attention after a mother duck and her ducklings were struck by a car Saturday night.
Police responded to Western Avenue shortly before 6:30p.m. and found a mother duck and her ducklings had been struck. Police and residents from the neighborhood helped gather the surviving ducklings.
According to police, the ducklings were taken by Animal Control to a rehabilitation center to be cared for.
The department says this incident is a reminder to pay attention to the roadways to keep animals and pedestrians safe.
