Elderly Woman Sexually Assaulted by Former Trooper Sues Motel

An 83-year-old woman sexually assaulted by a former state trooper at a Windsor Locks motel in June 2014 has filed a federal lawsuit against the motel's management company and the front desk clerk who was working that night.

The woman, who is not identified in court paperwork, said the clerk saw her on the second floor of the Quality Inn in Windsor Locks with former state trooper Jeffrey LaPorto, now 44, after leaving the bar. Her room was on the first floor.

The lawsuit says the clerk led LaPorto and the woman back to her room and should have anticipated he would harm her.

The woman suffered "extensive internal injuries" as a result of the attack, according to police.

Sarah Lee, a spokeswoman for Choice Hotels, which includes Quality Inn, said the company will not comment on pending lawsuits.

LaPorto is serving a two-year sentence
on a sexual assault conviction.
