Emaciated Horses Removed From Stable in Cruelty Investigation

The four thoroughbreds are now in care of Vermont's Spring Hill Horse Rescue

Four thoroughbred horses have been removed from a stable, and are now in the care of Vermont's Spring Hill Horse Rescue, following a months long investigation into alleged animal cruelty, according to WPTZ.

The horses had been stabled in Poultney, and were the subject of a probe beginning last November.

Spring Hill Horse Rescue aided the horses' owner with free hay, winter blankets and advice, but when another complaint came in about the horses and their care, Spring Hill contacted State Police.

No criminal charges have been filed, but the police investigation continues.

Spring Hill Horse Rescue is seeking donations to pay for the care of the horses.
