Erratic Driver Slams Into Multiple Parked Cars in Farmington, Maine

Police say the driver was traveling at more than double the speed limit

A juvenile traveling erratically along route 27 in Farmington, Maine, was involved in a multi-car crash Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the 17-year-old driver was traveling in a blue pickup truck at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.

The driver was dangerously swerving in and out of traffic on both sides of the road, according to an officer who was pursuing the truck.

The incident came to an end when the driver lost control of the truck at a roundabout, crashing into three parked cars. Each car was totaled, police say. A fourth vehicle was damaged by a falling sign.

The driver suffered injuries and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

Police identified the driver as a native of Eustis. The juvenile is facing driving to endanger charges as well as eluding an officer. Additional charges may be added.
