Inmate Who Escaped Prison Arrested Without Incident

An inmate who escaped from prison has been taken into custody without incident.

Keurys Pena, 25, also known as Michael Santana, was arrested on Daboll Street in Providence, Rhode Island, on Wednesday.

Pena walked away from his work assignment at the Prison Industries Building on the ACI Grounds in Cranston at 12:50 p.m. on Sept. 15.

Pena was serving a four and a half year sentence for breaking and entering into a dwelling.

Pena will be arraigned Thursday in Warwick District Court for escaping from correctional institutions. The charge carries a possible sentence up to three years or up to a $500 fine.
