Police say a former boyfriend of a woman charged in the death of a Vermont social worker last week has been taken into custody after he drew a gun outside a convenience store and seemed agitated.
Vermont State Police didn't say if his behavior was related to the Friday slaying of Lara Sobel and subsequent arrest of Jody Herring on a murder charge.
Police say 51-year-old Henry Premont of Williamstown, Vermont, was taken into custody outside the store in Barre Town, Vermont, where they found him after getting a call that he was sitting in a vehicle with a gun.
Authorities say that when troopers approached him, he drew a handgun from inside his shirt.
Troopers drew their weapons. More officers arrived and the man surrendered. No one was injured.
